Color Genetics

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some good articles on hedgehog color genetics. I am doing some research in it for a class I'm taking and would like to gain a better insight. I have read Brian's article here on Hedgehog Central, and am still a confused on a few points. Specifically concerning the multiple alleles in the two color grouping and how they are combined/ passed to the next generation. ie. you breed two chocolates whose parents and grandparents were chocolates, etc. and you get a cinnicot/cinnamon/apricot in the litter. it doesn't totally make sense to me, lol.
