I decided while my son and I were out today to swing by my favorite local pet store and see if they carried mealies, since I couldn't think of anywhere else I could get to that might have any.
At first all I saw were crickets, and I was getting a little bummed, but then one of the girls pulls a 10-gallon tank out from under the counter and it's teeming with mealworms!
Turns out about 15 only cost 20 euro-cents, and I rushed home with my prize so I could share it with my little guy!
After I managed to convince Charley to come out of his Mt. Dew box I made him last night (looks like he slept in there) I sat him on my lap and spent the next 15 minutes patiently holding a mealworm with a pair of tweezers. Charley wouldn't touch it...
Smoosh its head and set it in my palm though, and he was all over it like white on rice. I only let him have 3, because they're new to his diet...I don't think he's had any in a long time, if ever.
I'm just really excited since he seems to love them, and him taking them right from my hand seems like a great way to bond.
