I have 2 younger aged cats that are very gentle so i figured it would be ok for my hedgehog to be let down on the floor with them. i watched them closely and one of my cats walked over, layed by my hedgehog and nuzzled her and started licking her!!
my hedgehog snuggled against her belly and fell asleep!
it was the cutest thing ever!!
but is it ok for the two to be around each other? im just curious

My cats have always been allowed around my hedgehogs. Once the cats figured out that hedgehogs are spiky they either ignored them or watched them from a distance. One of my cats, Silas, is obsessed with watching them run around. its hilarious. Also, Kioko, one of my girls, is in love with another of my cats, Peanut. She nuzzles him and annoints over him. He isn't quite sure what to think of this unwarranted attention, lol.

They should be fine, but I'm not an expert, and I really think it depends on the cat and the hedgehog

In most cases, hedgehogs and other animals don't get much out of interaction so most of the time it's recommended to keep them apart. Since you've already introduced them and it seems to be going well, you might be able to continue to let them have playtime--HOWEVER, you MUST supervise at all times. It only takes one swipe of the paw to seriously injure an unsuspecting hedgehog, and cats that have been fine before have been known to suddenly attack. If there is any sign of aggression, even just light batting, remove the hedgehog from the situation.

I would especially keep an eye out since you have two cats. They seem to encourage each other to get into trouble (coming from the owner of two very ornery housecats who gets ambushed daily).

I personally do not allow interaction, as I do not feel it is worth the risk of one of my pets getting hurt. If you feel the need to let them interact, you need to be there constantly--do NOT leave them unattended at all--and always be within grabbing distance in case something does happen.

My hedgehog doesn't mind my parents three cats. They pretty much ignore him. But sometimes they will sit beside each other. I'm not worried about Quigley getting hurt because he is very nervous about movement. Once the cat yawning was enough to make him ball up. He also likes snuggling into the dogs fur but the dog is afraid of him so Quigley doesn't get to snuggle long before the dog notices and runs away. I agree with constant supervision. When my hedgehog is with the other animals he is on my lap and they either come to investigate him or come to sit with me.

As stated above, personally i would never put any of my animals together, for fear of what could happen, one little catch or one slight move could be awful. My dogs would be fine around the hedgie, but if my hedgie made one slight move, the dogs could just pounce out of nowhere, and i do not consider myself to be faster or quicker than a dog or cat, hence why i would never risk it.
After all little animals are chased and killed by dogs and cats naturally. I don't want this to happen to my hedgie.

I never let my cats and hedgies have contact with one another either. Cats are predators and a sudden movement or sound and instinct can take over regardless of how social and gentle the cat is. Saying a hedgehogs quills will protect him is a lousy argument. Our friendly social hedgehogs are not constantly quilled up around a cat or a dog, especially one they are used to. The first bite or pounce on an unsuspecting (quills relaxed) hedgehog can do serious or fatal injury. IMO, it's simply not worth the risk.
