Hey everyone, okay to begin with my name is Sara and I have an 8 month old African Pygmy hedgehog named Sonic and not too long ago I found this video on youtube about the recovery process of a hedgehog that ran into his waterbottle with his eye and damaged it to the point of he needed surgery and he ended up losing the eye. This made me very over protective and also paranoid about what to put in his cage, so i ended up taking out the waterbottle and just putting a little dish with some water in it. Today I bought a toy called the Wacky Tumblewood because the lady said that their hedgehogs play with them at the store and they roll them around and stuff. I was wondering if any of you out there have bought one of these for your hedgehog and they enjoy it? If you are unsure as to the toy I am referring to, here is the link to what it looks like: https://www.google.ca/search?q=wack...ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ&dpr=0.9#imgrc=F2JHxtbFSrHN0M:

I would appreciate a response back asap, thanks so much :)

For me it's questionable. From searching it's intended to be a bird toy, could not find what type of wood it is. Couldn't find anything on the coloring of the wood. Parrots would distroy these, that's what it's intended purpose is. Not sure how fast it would start to splinter if your hedgehog bites it. If the pegs are moveable, sort of like those evil puzzles, he could possibly get his tongue stuck.

Thanks so much :) I totally agree, five bucks down the drain but I will probably just end up selling it on Kijiji along with the other things that I've bought that hes unable to use. I think I'm just going to have to find another pet store to go to because I have bought multiple things from this place and it has ended up being useless. I need a place where they are completely honest with me instead of just trying to sell me stuff.

There isn't much that is specifically made for hedgehogs. Cat toys may be the best isle, limited at best. Cars, balls, toilet paper tubes, some dog toys, a dig box, and pork chops favorite a dirty sock all make great toys. Also baby toys are sometimes winners!

Most often, they are happiest with a wheel and a tube.
