Hi there! First post here!

My bf and I recently got 2 female hedgehogs (about 3 weeks ago). They're best buds (which was honestly surprising to us). They're about 3 months old now.

Anyways, everything was fine for the first 2.5 weeks, then poor little Squanchy started having mucousy blood in her poop and was seriously straining to go on Thursday evening last week. We took her to the vet Monday and were given antibiotics. She's been on them for only 2 days but I don't really see it getting better. Still blood, her butt is a mess, and lots of straining. It's really hard to get her to take the antibiotics too! Last night she pooped green sludge so I'm not sure if that is a good sign or a worse one?

I guess I'm just looking to see if anyone had similar experience and it resolved and it's okay. She's so tiny so I worry as a new heggie mom.

If there is no improvement after 48 hrs then you need to call your vet and let them know and see what they want you to do.
Thanks! That was already my plan. Just curious if anyone experienced a similar issue. She's otherwise exactly her awesome self. Eating, drinking, running around and super personable so at least its nice that it's not phasing her much. It actually was looking much better last night. 2 more days on Antibiotics :)
