Hello, Hunter who’s a lil over 5 has started a lot of behavioral changes. Up and out of his cubby early in the day (always used to be nocturnal and wouldn’t come out unless we pulled him out for socializing or very late at night), spending inordinate amount of time on his wheel. Sleeping outside of his igloo (this would never happen before). Pooping everywhere, even in sleeping shirts and igloo, water dish, you name it. We’ve also started noticing bleeding on his tail. It looks tender. We clean it up and have been using antibacterial cream. The issue is it does not get better. We have tried to bandage it to no avail and even went as far as to try “liquid bandages”. Still he bleeds. We think it’s worn down to the bone. We took him to the vet a couple of weeks ago because his butt looked sore (vet said they hardly see them this old) and are making an appointment ASAP for the tail issue but are looking for alternatives in the meantime. For the moment we are removing his wheel and will only allow wheel time for a while during the day. Please help.
Thanks

Let us know how the vet appointment goes! Try to see if there is anything in his cage that he could have scratched his tail on or if he is chewing it. Also see if anything changed in his normal sleeping area making him not want to sleep there and vice versa with his litter area
