So this is for anyone who may want to try out a new toy for there hedgie. Some of you may already know but some hedgehogs LOVE bells. What we do is we tie 1 or two bells to the same string and hang it from the middle of there cage. (we run a long line of string across the whole length of the cage and hang the bell from the middle of it). Some of our hedgehogs LOVE it. Our high snowflake girl, Raine cant get enough of the bell. She will run up, bite it and hop away like a little puppy. Its the cutest thing. I would recommend that everyone try it :)

I just want to make a caution post on the types of bells. There are many types of bells out there, and if your hedgie likes to bite/lick the bell, be sure not to use the round bells with the slit. You could end up with cut or stuck tongues. The same idea of why not to use the plastic holey cat balls with bells.

And if you have a metal biter be sure to hang it just out of grasping range, or you might get chipped teeth.

My boy LOVEs metal and bells and he will always chase it around when I drag it on the floor.

I have a 7 week old hedgehog and have had her less than a week. I added a mirror with some bells attached. She loves to play with it and bite it, but ever since I added it, she has started to bite fingers. Is this because of the bells or just curiosity, or just being too excited?
