I was wondering if it would be alright for me to bathe my hoglet? She's exactly a month old today. But she smells awful. Are there any consequences to me bathing her right now? Why is it better to wait?
No you need to wait until she is weaned at six weeks of age. If you bathe her now her mom may reject or injure her. She doesn't care what she smells like and she'll be fine until after she's weaned. The reason to wait is is she smells different mom may attack and injure her. It has happened even with 5 week old babies. It's the same reason why you don't clean the cage until the babies are weaned.
