My female hedgehog gave birth on October 21st and to 5 hedgehogs, two died due to lack of nutrition. One of the last three was very malnourished and abandoned by her mother, so I started bottle feeding her 4 days ago.

I've noticed that her foot is a purple color and has caused alarm. It doesn't hurt her when I touch it and she still moves her leg. I'm wondering if I should be concerned or not!

Is she losing her leg? Or is it just the coloration of her skin?

Would the vet be able to give her anything if there were something wrong? If not, id try to keep her alive as long as possible without actually knowing.

Well, due to the lack of info we have, the vet could know exactly what’s wrong, and be able to help a lot. But then of course, there’s always a chance the vet can’t help, it’s 50-50% really.

Thanks for the response. She is going to the vet in 1 week so hopefully she will be okay till then!
