whats the average age when a hedgie has its last quilling ? i'm not entirly sure how old roxy is, maybe about 3 months +, but i've found 4 quills in 2 days. is she starting to quill ? and if so, is giving her baths ok to help ease her "growing pains " as it is with dry skin ?

I believe the more baths you give, the dryer the skin will become. Unless it is an oatmeal bath or a bath with a bit of olive oil, which will help the dry skin. But giving just a regular bath while they are very dry and quilling with dry them out even more.

My hedgie is about 6 months old now and is still quilling. He loses quite a handful of quills each day and is growing many, many new ones in. They are in a lot of pain during this time so be careful when you handle your hedgie! Do you see new quills poking through the skin? It sounds normal but if the dry skin and quill loss gets worse, you might want to get your hedgie checked out for mites.
