I've had Henry about 3months now and love him to pieces. :D But i've now started doing 12hr working days, which only leaves me an hour cuddle time (which he spends in his snuggle sack as he's not a big fan of mine!) and then an hour run around time. Is this enough?

I get him out a little earlier at weekends and let him run around for a bit longer. He doesn't seem to like coming out during the day and never has, not even to eat. So i don't like to disturb him too much before 8pm.

I only ask because i read a lot of people on here seem to do lots of different things with their hedgies and i don't want to be neglecting mine. Im hoping its because he's not a very social hedgehog? I don't mind if that is the reason, im just worried its because im not spending enough time with him?

I think you are doing just fine. Don't beat yourself up at all - you seem loving and caring towards him and consistent handling is the key. They all have different personalities. I'd bribe him with some mealworms so he associates you with treats and keep handling him as you are doing. If you haven't put an old t-shirt of yours in with him so he is used to your scent, try that, too.

Good luck,
Dana

An hour cuddle time sounds great... even if the little guy spends the majority of it in his hedgiebag.

There was a poll some months back on one of the hedgie boards that asked how long people spent with their hedgie per day. As I'm recalling, one hour was a pretty popular answer.

I was a little confused about one hour run around time... Do you mean an hour of running around outside his house in addition to however much time he spends running on a wheel? If so, that's great.
