Hi everyone, was wondering if anyone can give me some advice about a low protein diet? The vet told me my Humphrey has crystals in his urine caused by too much protein. He has always been on a low fat mix with 33.5% protein and the vet has suggested introducing some low protein cat or dog biscuits, possibly ones for senior pets? I’ve seen some dog biscuits that are 20% or 25% protein but I’m not sure if this is too low, or what I should be aiming for? Do I need to mix different ones together?

Has anyone been through something similar or knows what a ‘healthy’ low protein diet should look like? Would be grateful for any advice!

The protein content should be greater than 20% for the average healthy hedgehog. Most breeders use 28-35% protein sources for nursing moms and growing babies. The fat content should be between 5 and 15% for the average hedgehog.
