Dark Eyed White Males 7-05.jpg
Dark Eyed White Babies2992 viewsThis group of young Dark Eyed White Hedgehogs includes animals from 3 seperate litters. Dark Eyed Whites are definately the answer for folks who like white hedgehogs...but are not thrilled with the pink eyes and skin of Albinos.Jul 04, 2005
Blaze muzzle2 web 2-05.jpg
Hedgehog with an Aberant Blaze Pattern2187 viewsHere is a special little girl that we named "Blaze"! She is one of our famous Pinto hedgehogs. What is unique is that she has a white blaze running through her muzzle pattern...much like the blaze on some horses. She is such a cutey! We are excited to see if she will reproduce this cool trait in any of her future offspring. Updates to follow!Jul 04, 2005
Dark Eyed White 7-05.jpg
Dark Eyed White2805 viewsThis little boy has the sweetest disposition! He is a Dark Eyed White and exhibits the characteristic black skin, dark eyes, dark facial features, and white quills associated with this rare color. This little guy's parents were both Heavy Snowflakes, and that is where he got his distictive color from!Jul 04, 2005
Pile of Pintos2 web~0.jpg
Pile of Pintos in Chicago!3919 viewsThis is a group of HIGH WHITE, or as we like to call them, TOBIANO PINTO hedgehogs. These animals represent several litters, out of 3 different males. All are Salt & Pepper Pintos, with the exeption of the Cinnicot Tobiano Pinto in the far left corner. Rarely do we have this many at the same time. What a blessing these were! (Note the unique blaze on the animal in the near left corner.)Feb 27, 2005
DE Rich Cinnicot Pinto 12-04 web.jpg
Rich Cinnicot Pinto male9207 viewsThis little Dark Eyed Cinnicot Pinto is so rich in color that he looks like a pumpkin! His daddy, "Elijah" is a very rich Cinnicot also. This fellow was from a litter that included siblings colored all across the "Cotty" color range. The quill color varied from lots of Apricot color, like this guy....to almost Cinnamon quill color with just a hint of orange!Feb 23, 2005
Chocolate Whites 12-04.jpg
Snowflakes Piling Up In Chicago!3776 viewsHedgehogs that is! This is a group of Chocolate Whites. The Ultimate Snowflake hedgehog! These cuties retain the dark facial features and dark skin of the Standard hedgies...but their quill color is almost 100% white quills. Very pretty.Jan 02, 2005
Pinto Snowflake 9-23-04.jpg
Pinto Snowflake3624 viewsThis is a special little girl that was born here in Sept. of '04. Not only does she have the Pinto pattern patches on her rump, but her anterior color is Snowflake. Since she is in immature coloring in this photo, we believe that the Snowflake "frosting" will only get richer as she matures. A very pretty, and a very special animal!Nov 26, 2004

Smily!4212 viewsIt was expressions like this that caused us to fall in love with hedgehogs back in 1994! Being long term "animal people", living with hedgehogs was a natural for us. Now we can't imagine ever being "hedgieless"! This darling female Snowflake was 7 weeks old when this picture was taken.Nov 26, 2004
Pinto 8-2 M.jpg
Pinto Pattern on Standard Quills3284 viewsWe think that Pintos are the best! (We might be a tad prejudiced since we own Pinto and Appaloosa horses.) But the diversity in markings and unique nature of the Pinto Pattern make Pintos our favorite hedgehog color! We have been raising hedgies for over 10 years. We have spent the last 6 years developing the genetics in our Pinto animals. It gets even more fun every season and the variety of pattern possibilities means we will never be bored!Nov 13, 2004
Cinnamon Tobiano Pinto 8-9 M.jpg
Baby Pinto Male4450 viewsWhat a cutie! This fella is one of our babies. He has decent Pinto markings on his flank and rump. Not only is this guy pretty, but he has a sweet extroverted personality to match! Over 10 years of selective breeding has produced not only beautiful color patterns here at Hedgehogs by Vickie, but outgoing even tempered personalities as well!Nov 13, 2004
Algerian Cinnicot 8-21 M.jpg
Cinnicot Male born August '043505 viewsThe lighting in this picture does not reflect the true color of this animal. In real life, he does not appear to have as much Apricot quill color. His quills are more of the dilute Cinnamon color from his Algerian ancestors. And although this picture doesn't prove it, he is actually an Algerian Cinnicot. Notice the patch of white quills on his flank. He is technically a Pinto too. We raise so many high white Pintos here, that we tend not to acknowledge the Pinto pattern when it is only this minor.Nov 13, 2004
Apricot Pinto 8-3 M.jpg
Apricot Pinto male born 8-042899 viewsHedgehog's by Vickie is well known for our strain of Pinto Hedgehogs. We raise Pintos (which is actually a pattern) in a variety of colors. This little guy is an Apricot Pinto. The Apricot on White quills are not as dramatic as the standard color Pintos. But this guy is pretty just the same! Our strain of Apricot hedgies tends to be deeper in color than a lot of the Pale Apricots that are frequently seen.Nov 13, 2004
