|tetzelpretzel||Thank you! I will give it a shot tomorrow! I tried to place a warm compress on it this evening and she was not pleased with me at all. We are going to the vet this weekend but it is definitely worth a shot to try the betadine.|

|Lilysmommy||I would check with the vet on epsom salt soak, as I don't have experience with that. But diluted betadine is fine for disinfecting/cleaning the wound. I have it in my emergency first aid kit for minor injuries for any of my critters.|

Hedgie has sore where she has a cyst??
I'm a new hedgehog owner. I have a female hedgehog named Siouxie, she's approx. 3 years old. She has a cyst on the right side of her belly, vet previously said it wasn't a concern. Now it looks irritated like she may have scratched at it and opened it up. Gave her an oatmeal bath last night and it does look slightly better today. Has anyone tried doing epsom salt soaks on their hedgie? I am concerned it might irritate her skin. Also anyone used betadine in cases like this? Planning on bringing her to the vet but I'm just worried and want to do whatever I can until then. Thank you!
