Re: Play Pens!

I haven't put Tak in our playpen yet (I might try it tonight), but Mac loved being in it. We put a saucer wheel in and he went nuts! I would run in the wheel for a while then make laps around the perimeter, take a drink, then go back to his wheel! I never left him in it without me in the room because I was concerned with him finding a way out, or our cats or dog knocking it over.

It will be interesting to see what Tak thinks of it!

one of my hedgies hates his playpen too - he always tries to climb the vertical bars or he just runs around the perimeter pushing at it to see if there are any weaknesses he can use to get out from - I bought a few of them to link them all up together so it nearly covers the room - he still runs around the perimeter even if I use all of them together

I'm looking for another one. The one I got was like $15 and now I'm seeing them for like $35.

Haha silly smart hedgies. My hedgehog managed to both climb over and open the play pen. Needless to say I have to find a new one :P
But yeah, play pens are great! And if you ever want to take hedgie outside, you can set the playpen up out there as long as you have checked the area first and are watching to make sure hedgie doesn't escape/dig out!

I have one, but my hedgehog hates it and just stares at the bars.

Re: Play Pens!

Playpens are great but I advise getting the Midwest one that is 15" high. The 9" ones that are most often sold in the stores can easily be climbed and if not climbed, are light enough to put a nose under and lift up.
