Will Squirtle be okay?!

Hi everyone. Today while I was drying Squirtle up I didn't notice there was a loose thread on the towel. I noticed when he was going inside his bonding bag and I immediately cut the loose thread. I picked him up and it was inside his mouth! No matter what I would do Squirtle would not open up his mouth so I tried taking it out as gently as I could and when I examined the loose thread there was a little bit of blood! I'm really worried and wondering if he will be okay. Thank you.
