It can be fatal if you don't catch it fast enough.
Basically, hedgehogs need to be kept between 74F - 78F. If they go below this temperature, they will try to hibernate, However, APH cannot recover from a full hibernation, and will never wake up.

Signs of hibernation include a cool to cold belly, unable to stand, looking wobbly when walking, slow reactions and lethargy.

Is it common?

Is it common for domestic hedgies to go into hibernation? What are the signs of hibernation? Is it dangerous? I read somewhere that it can be fatal, is this true?
