Gingerrella She went to the emergency vet this morning. They said she probably picked up mites or some other bacteria while we boarded her when we were on vacation last month. She got Revolution and she goes back for a follow up in two weeks. Hoping for a fast recovery for my little girl.

Gingerrella We have never changed the soap we use for her since we got her, and I was not involved with her bath because I'm on crutches, but my husband usually sets up her baths anyway, he says the water was normal and she was normal in it.

Also, I did do an extensive amount of research before we got her. Every week/every other week was the norm from what I understood. She is also only goes to the bathroom in her pan, so it's not like there is gross stuff all over her cage.

twobytwopets Fleece needs changed out more often than every 2 weeks. I think the average is every couple days. I don't think that in itself is the issue, but it could delay healing.

You did the full bath yesterday? Could the temperate have been a bit off? Any new product? Did you apply any oil after the bath?

Gingerrella We change her fleece liner, fleece tunnel, and her fleece sack every 2 weeks. She has three ceramic bowls that are all fine, and two tubes that are both soft foam. She uses a Carolina storm wheel and it's in a pan that has no sharp edges. Her wheel and pan liner get cleaned and changed every day. And we also lint brush all her fleece stuff everyday. She gets foot baths every couple days and we give her fu baths every 3 to 4 weeks. She got one yesterday and that mark wasn't there. For the year we've had her we've done the same thing with no issue.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it but she does run alot! She ran 4.5 miles last night. I can also hear her running right now, so I don't think it's super painful. She's eating and acting normal as well.

twobytwopets Ok for clarity I have some questions.
How often are you changing the liners?
Is there anything in her cage that she could be scratching herself? Things that come to mind are water bottles, some houses, toys, rough spot on the wheel, the litter box ect.

Gingerrella I should add, Molly is a little over a year, she's never had anything like this before. Also, it did just turn cold here but her cage is still warm, and her skin doesn't look dry. Plus, we only use fleece liners and we wash and change everything in her cage every couple of weeks, but clean it and her wheel daily.

Skin issues, Please help!

We noticed a small spot on Molly's face today between her eye that looked like a small scratch, so we trimmed her nails. While trimming we found a damaged area in front of her back leg under her fur. It looks raw and almost like scabbing. I got the best picture I could but she never let's us near her under side.

All the skin under her quills is perfect. I examined it with a flashlight and it looks great. I'm just really worried about this spot, can anyone offer any help/advice?
