Glad to hear Alfred has a better home now - and a better wheel! He's definitely a cutie

Alfred's new mom and dad :)

Hi everyone! My hubby and I bought our year and a bit (as far as we know) old hedgie from a couple (long story short, the people we bought him from had him for 4 days, they bought him from what we think was the original owners, so I hardly consider them owners, more like babysitters) about 4 weeks ago. We kind of bought him on a whim but have since fallen in love! It took us a few weeks to settle on a name, but we now proudly call him Alfred! It has been hard getting to know Alfred, the original owners said he was very tame and friendly but we have yet to really see any of that! He doesn't often take food from me (I had success last night with spinach and he does like mealworms quite a bit!), I'm not sure if it's because I'm close by or if he is a picky eater. But he is awfully cute no matter what! When we bought him, he came with all the set up and food and whatnot that the 'babysitters' bought him with, but as he seems full grown, I have trouble believing that it is all the same as what he was using up to sale as the wheel he came with is approximately 5.5 inches diameter!! The first few nights we would wake up and he would be stuck in the tipped over wheel! So my first trip to the city, I made it a high priority to find a proper wheel for him, which he happily began using the same night I put it in his cage! So I have no idea why they would sell everything but the wheel with him, but it's water under the bridge now.

I have been reading this forum almost exclusively since I discovered it, it has been so helpful! I look forward to getting to know the regulars better!
