Melanie G. Usually once a month is good for giving your hedgehog a bath. Some hedgies really like getting baths and have fun playing in the water. Just make sure the temperature of the water is what you would use for a baby- you don't want the water to be too hot. And make sure your hedgie is dry before putting him back in his cage.
With cleaning the cage, it does depend on the hedgehog. Some hedgies are messy while others are not. Cages should be cleaned at least once a week, with spot cleaning daily. But if you have a particularly messy hedgie, you may need to clean more often.
Enjoy getting to know your new little guy!

lilsurfergrlsp I don't mean to offend you or be rude, and it's perfectly okay because you're pretty new to the forum, but a lot of the questions that you've asking have been answered already on different threads. You can search for questions using the search box, and a lot of senior members and moderators have provided "stickys" for information that's been asked frequently. You can find the stickys in each forum category. I've just been seeing a lot of new members asking the same questions over and over, and this site is a wonderful resource for information. Just an FYI, again I don't mean to be rude

Kaddy I too am new, Hector has been in his forever home 2 weeks today, I have given him a footbath, and am going to do another tonight, I think he likes it! I have routinely been picking up poop everyday and like teddi has said clean cage toys, igloo and all once a week, I have fleece strips in igloo, they get changed daily as does his shirt, it took me awhile to get into a routine, now the one drying I will wear tonight and replace tomorrow, my goodness these little creatures are so looked after lol but so so worth it!

I clean my hedgies cage every week. I switch out the fleece, wipe down the coroplast, wipe down her little igloo, and do a full clean of her litter pan and wheel.

Teddi4211 Give her a bath when she gets really dirty, which should be around every month or so. Foot bathes can be given every night or a few days, depending on how much your hedgie runs and poops on the wheel.

Hello everyone I've had a few posts now with just general question for things that could happen now. But I think it's time to look farther. Since my baby is only 6 weeks and is new to my home (today is day 3) when should I give her a bath is every month an okay time for her to have a bath
