They aren't going to show up and take your pets and kill them,,,,,,they would probably just stop the import of some species as they did with prairiedogs when the ban was on. (monkey pox) there were 8 species in the affected cargo, rabbits amongst them, no one banned rabbits. The ban is off the prairie dogs now.
Worse that could happen is depending on where you are located, local pet stores might be banned from selling, but doubtful

PETA actually probably loves this, they just killed my friend's dog with rat poison to "protest" dog shows (I think they're stupid too but killing innocent animals is unacceptable). PETA does not believe ANY animals should be kept as pets. What will probably discourage this bill is the expense it would be-- we're already low on funds as a country, and the time, money, and man-power it would take to track down all those animals, confiscate them, and "euthanize" them... it would be too much. It won't pass, but we need to make sure we throw a big enough fit about even the idea of it that it doesn't get brought up again.

PETA will deffinaely fight this. That's a large range of animals to ban as pets in a single country. I doubt it'll pass.

I know, but even with the small chance, still a good thing to sign for!

I highly doubt this is going to get passed. There are a large amount of exotic pet owners though out the US.

All animals deemed not to be "domesticated enough" will be banned and any animal currently within the United States that falls under this category will be "disposed of". If your pet is not on the following list, they will be considered "unaccepted species":
- common canary
- guinea pig
So any reptile or amphibian, arachnids and other insects, hermit crabs, any bird other than the common canary, any fish other than the goldfish, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, chinchillas, degus, rats/mice, and other common pets that are not listed above will be banned and killed. Note that many of these animals are currently available at national pet store chains (such as Petco and Petsmart), as well as through local pet stores and breeders.
