Ria When you have him out touch his feet, even if he huffs and pulls them back. Keep going. The more you can get him used to touching his feet the better it is for everyone.

Some people use a colander or tennis racket so their nails poke through and you can cut them easier.

And give a treat, I do a treat for each foot I can get done.
I can now get all feet done in one evening majority the time.

Its really about trying to find a way both of you are comfortable.
You could try holding him to your chest and catch little feet wait for the calm moment and then clip.

With Holly I pretend I am just filing her nails and then cut the nails. I have no idea why but she is so much more relaxed with filing her nails than cutting them.

Also could try with one person holding him a position where he is relaxed and comfy, and then the other person can cut the nails
I do this with Holly when my mum isnt busy and it really helps to keep her calmer.

Thank you for the response! He doesn’t let me near his feet at all. And if he falls sleep on me his feet are tucked. He trusts me a lot more than when I first got him but so far the feet are a no go. I live alone so it’s hard to find another person comfortable with him.

Nail issues!

Hi all, Iím beside myself with Gremlinís nails! Iíve had him for 3 months and Iíve managed to clip one once. He hates it. He was a rescue so I really donít know what his past experiences were, but I do know how back nails are getting way too long. He goes into a serious huff/grump when I get near him with the clippers, and Iíve tried distracting him with treats, doing it in his foot bath, flipping him over, nothing works and he gets so worked up and flails about so, that Iím afraid heíll be so stressed itís unhealthy for him, which is out of character. Any suggestions?
