Emc If all animals in your house are healthy, there should be no concern. If your hog has dirty feet, you can wash them like mentioned - but this will do absolutely nothing in terms of preventing or even necessarily reducing the risk of your hog transmitting possible disease.

It is incredibly uncommon, and like I said, isn’t something i’d worey about if your animals are healthy. Dogs go outside all the time, where they trek in areas than have been trekked in by feral and wild animals galore; so a domesticated hedgehog should really be of no concern at all.

Aj.t Any animal can transmit bacterias to others, and with hedgehogs running in their poop often their feet are especially probable to hold things. Generally speaking though, the times where household pets in the same house as another pet get sick from them is the RARE case. I’ve never worried myself about Christina running around anywhere in the house and don’t see any reason you should. You might just give your hedgie a quick foot bath before she runs around.

This may sound dumb but...

Ok, so I have a dog and I’m wondering if I let my hog roam free (while I watch him of course) if there’s anything that my dog can get from the carpet (because yes she sometimes licks it) being that Buddy was roaming around? Or should I block off an area and lay a blanket (or something washable) down for Buddy to explore? Pardon my ignorance. Thanks!
