SquirtleSquirt Do you think you could try another vet for a second opinion?

Blood Blisters?

I noticed that our hedgehog had what appeared to be blood blisters on his skin. He had one a while ago and it popped and healed and went away (Just blood came out). About a week ago, we saw another one, then we saw three of them. One did pop and the same thing happen. We took him to the vet and the vet has never seen this on a hedgehog before. Vet said he is perfectly healthy otherwise. The vet wanted to do more blood samples for cancer but said it would cost $400-500 and it has risks associated with the sedative and with taking blood from his cranial artery.

I definitely don’t want to do an unnecessary test that could possibly harm him. So we took him home and we have been watching him see if they heal again. Today we noticed that a few more have popped up. I am at a loss. I am unsure what to do. Has anyone ever had a similar issue?
