|Heggielover||Going to the vet as soon as possible tomorrow will be your best bet. Hedgehogs go down hill very fast after becoming ill and any change of behavior is a good reason to take him to the vet. My first Heggie passed away just a few days after showing symptoms of a disease (but I had no vet to take him to) so got to the vet tomorrow and he should be just fine! Good luck!|

Possible URI - In need of advice!!
So my little guy Dunkin has been showing symptoms of an URI - hes sneezing and has cloudy colored discharge around his nose. However, his stools look fine, hes been eating and drinking, he feels warm and hes not wobbling or anything like that, so I believe that the sneezing and nose discharge are the main indicators of an upper respiratory infection. Now he's been showing signs for about two days, so I wanted to take him to my Vet today to be seen but the doctor will not be in until tomorrow. I tried to shop around but there aren't many exotic animal vets in my area. I made him an appointment for tomorrow but I really was hoping to have him to be seen sooner.
I'm concerned because I know how dangerous URI can be for hedgehogs so my question is, does anyone know how soon URI's can develop into pneumonia?
Like I said, it's been about two days since I've noticed the symptoms but I honestly don't know how long he's been like this. Am I doing wrong by him if I don't get him seen tonight? I'm a new hedgie mom and he's only about two months old so I'm just really worried.
Any advice would be appreciated!
