Just an update: Went to the vet and found she has mites! She was given her first dose of Revolution so hopefully she feels better! She was all clear on a bacterial infection and am still waiting on the fungal culture results. I was told to monitor her weight and response and if she doesn't feel better to come back for a skin biopsy and possible imaging tests. One of the vets said that another hedgehog came in with similar symptoms and was found to have skin cancer so hopefully it's not that ![]() |

shinydistraction | Without knowing what it is, not really. If it's an infection, you don't want to put any oils on it. Probably the only thing you can do is just keep her and her cage as clean as is reasonably possible. |

jolimxd | I made a vet appointment for this upcoming Monday. Is there anything I can do before then to make her feel better? |

nikki | It could be a bacterial or fungal skin infection. You need to make a vet appointment |

PLEASE HELP: peeling/raw skin, swollen feet, losing hair, hardened ears Hi guys, I recently came back from a vacation to find my hedgehog's feet and legs were swollen, skin dry and peeling, and nails looked discolored. I also noticed her ears were hardened at the tips and darker. I gave her an oatmeal bath to soothe her skin and realized she was losing a lot of hair around her feet/legs. I searched around and thought it could be mites or ringworms or something, but she's not losing any quills. Have any of you experienced anything like this? It's affecting all 4 of her legs/feet, both ears, and a little on the tip of her tail. |
