He may be hibernating but I'm not sure. You might want to search for hibernation signs. ~Paige~ |

shinydistraction | If he's not eating on his own you'll need to syringe feed him. The longer he goes without eating, the less he'll feel like eating. You can crush up his normal food and mix it with some water so it will go through the syringe easily, or you can get wet cat food and blend it up until it goes though the syringe easily. Alternatively, you may be able to get Carnivore Care from your vet. It's designed for sick animals and is supposed to be easy to syringe feed. |

Hedgehog laying on side barely moving pneumonia I took my hedgehog to the vet a few days ago after waking up and realizing that he is laying on his side and cold to the touch the vet said its pneumonia and I've been giving him anti biotic but he won't eat or drink anything I've given him many different types of food but he still won't eat I have been giving him water via syringe and heating him my vet doesn't seem very knowledgeable on hedgehogs but he is a exotic vet so I feel like he should be is there anything I can do besides what I have been doing? Spike is about to be 3 years old and was completely fine before this |
