Quilling pinto loses only white qulls.

Benna Quiller is nine weeks old today and has been undergoing some crazy quilling for about a week and a half. That's not the issue. The weird thing is that she's a pinto and it looks like she's almost exclusively shedding her white quills.

The white quills in question are slightly longer and thicker than her banded quills. (She has shed around three or four banded ones, though.) I'm not crazy, other people have commented on this as well. And it's not that I can't see the dark quills, she has light fleece liners where even the lost white qulls are apparent.

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I crazy? Why is she only losing one colour of quill?

(She's perfectly healthy in other ways, no itching/scratching/sneezing/discharge/crusties etc. Just a tiny bit of dry skin, new quills are pushing through.)

Anddd for the lurkers who, like me, click into random topics in hopes of cute hedgie pictures: You can kinda see how the white quills are longer in the first.

Not an expert by any means, but when I got my Millie, she was quilling. She is a pinto as well and for the first little while these were the only quills she would lose. After about 2 and a half weeks of quilling, I started seeing more of the banded quills being lost... Not sure what causes this, but it happened to us as well. Now if there was a way to make quilling not take so long, this would be my miracle haha

Thanks guys, I had no idea that the pinto shedding would be so prolific. (I thought I'd read up on everything, joke's on meeeeeee.) It looks like from what you guys said, she'll eventually lose some banded quills and perhaps some of her previously white ones will grow in banded.

I made a side by side comparison of her at six weeks and at nine weeks so that I could compare and I do think I can see a tiny bit of difference in the amount of white she's exhibiting. (Less white.) Either that or since she's getting bigger, her grey area looks bigger by comparison, haha.
