Sometimes it's a genetic issue and runs in certain lines. It shouldn't bother her, but a vet visit is always a good idea just to make sure that's all it is. ![]() |

Welcome to the forum! Here's a care guide for hedgehogs. So, hedgehogs can have black eyes, red eyes, or ruby eyes. Ruby eyes are very dark and its hard to see the red tint in photographs. Is that what you're talking about? |

Cherry Eye kinda in my Hedgehog! I got a new hedgehog last week. She is a baby 7 weeks old. Now that we are getting to know one another more I have a question. Eyes are clear, no infection, no tearing, nothing. But she has what almost looks like cherry eye on both of her eyes but instead of it being toward the front of the eye it is in the back of the eye. It is white like the extra part of her eye. She is healthy, eats well, drinks well, runs on her wheel constantly. She's a very good hog and probably nothing wrong with her but I just want to check. This is only our second hedgehog. I'll try to get a picture of it when she is out and about. |
