I use flour too and only once was it not enough to stop the bleeding (it was a really bad cut from the nail clipper). I just keep a some flour in a small container in the bathroom where we usually cut nails.

a dry bar of soap will also stop the bleeding. It stings a little, but when there is nothing else it does help. We use it when we cut my dogs nails. If we cut the quick we rub the dry bar of soap on the cut nail and it will create a coating over the nail. It also stops her from licking at it cause she doesn't like the taste of the soap.

Flour stop the bleeding too (less effective but better than nothing)

I've heard that flour could also work, or you could just put a bit of neo/polysporin on it.

Cutting the Quick on the nail

If you cut it and don't have corn starch what else can you use? what basic household things could I use? or can time just heal it? I thought I had corn starch but it ended up being empty and I got one of Hector's quicks.
