Re: This is why you DO NOT USE silent spinners!!! Thank you for posting this. I was told by my pet store that silent spinners are ok for g Hedgehogs. I'm still getting use to this site and figuring everything out. But last night I took out my baby's silent spinner and first thing this morning I bought her a bucket wheel. I hope she loves it! |

Re: This is why you DO NOT USE silent spinners!!! Blood turns bright red when it's exposed to oxygen in the air, otherwise its much darker. Like when you go for a blood test and your blood in the vile appears to be a very dark purply-red colour, but when you scrape your knee it bleeds a bright red. |

Re: This is why you DO NOT USE silent spinners!!! I believe it was a friend of the person who took that picture posted about it a year or so ago, and yes, unfortunately it was real. I was inclined to guess paint at first too. |

Re: This is why you DO NOT USE silent spinners!!! Nope, not paint. I woke up to Daisy's wheel like this once... it was AWFUL looking too, same colour. It ended up being she had a small cut on her foot. I've also seen this with gerbils in the past, I had 2 over the years with ear issues, and the spray and amount and colour of blood were unreal. ![]() |

Re: This is why you DO NOT USE silent spinners!!! I highly doubt it's paint. I've had numerous on bucket wheels that showed red like that. |

Re: This is why you DO NOT USE silent spinners!!! It kind of looks like paint to me, any experience I've had with animal blood ( cats dogs etc.) It dried and was more of a brownish colour. |
