Thanks. I hear them running everynight so atleast I know they're keeping active. But I will watch out for decreased activity.

It sounds like you're doing the best you can. It can be really tough to get hedgies to lose weight, some will gain but not lose. My best recommendation would be to try to keep them active. As they get older it'll be even more important to keep them in good shape, too - decreased activity can lead to muscle loss and weight gain and from there lead to other "senior animal" problems. Try getting them to run around outside their cages during the day, or if they aren't stressed much by water letting them swim a bit. It might not help them lose much but might prevent them from gaining more. Your vet might have more suggestions!

Gaining weight

Hi guys!

Quinn and Sasha are getting older and I undertand that their metabolism slows but their starting to get fat. They can still roll in a ball so they aren't too big yet but I want to make sure that doesn't happen. I've already introduced weight control cat food and since I've introduced it is now over half of their food. However, they haven't lost any weight. I try to get them to eat fruits and vegetables but no luck so far. They only eat chicken and it has to be dark meat, white meat is rejected. They're both going to the vet soon and I know Dr. Munn will mention their weight and I feel bad. Any suggestions?
