This is a normal time for him to be quilling. He will quill again before he is one year old. The quills have ‘knobs’ on the end of them which is a sign of healthy shedding. |

Hedgie Quilling; new time owner. Concerned parents, Seeking Advice Hello everyone! This morning I had noticed our 12 week hedgie has started Quilling! We are just concerned parents. As we are new owners. I read online, they will quill once at around 6-8 weeks, and once again at about 4 months. I just wanted to be sure this wasn't irregular? Like I had said we believe he is right at the 12 week/ 3 month old mark, from the breeders info. When we first got him, on his second day, I gave him a foot bath and trimmed his nails. We've had him for 5 days now. 🙂 Down below is pictures of the few quills I found this morning, and a picture of our handsome boy. I believe they still have the balls on the end of them, and I can't imagine it being mites,(but I don't want to rule them out), as I'm using all brand new fleece bedding/ fleece strips. Thank you all for the help! |
