My hedgie Skipper does this every so often too. It is almost like a hiccup, right?

Yes exactly, like a hiccup! At least I can let her sleep without worrying as much now. Thanks guys.

autumnfox I think she is just having some interesting dreams! I've had my girl do that once while she was sleeping on my lap. I would only be worried if it happened a LOT.

She doesn’t do it a lot so I don’t think I’d be able to film it. I can only describe it as a repetitive huffing noise with small jumps with each breath that continue for about 39 seconds unless I interrupt it.

Hedgehog jolting in sleep

My 8 month old(ish) hedgehog will go to sleep laying on me and suddenly she will do little jolts and small huffing noises. Not huffing noises like the ones she makes when she is angry, just very sharp sudden exhales. She does not seem bothered by them as she will continue to sleep and stops if I move but I was just wondering if it’s anything I should be worried about??
