My hedgehog is 2 years old very soon :-D and she has to be put on general an ascetic whilst they clip her nails, she will be at the vets for a day and when she comes home as its almost her birthday I want to pamper her, so my question is, would it be safe to use a nail polish designed for pets on my hedgie?

Thanks.

I agree with Tom on both things. Is the anesthetic the absolute last possible option for clipping her nails? It can be really dangerous to expose such a small animal to that stuff, especially repeatedly. If you're able to put nail polish on her, I'd think she could also be coaxed into a trimming.

I personally wouldn't use the nail polish because even if it is animal-safe in general, your hedgie might have a bad reaction to it, either by contact, inhalation, or ingesting. Plus she won't actually understand that she's being pampered. ;)
