Default Demi (the puff)

So, as many of you know about two weeks ago I took Demi in for a routine hysterectomy only to find out she had quite a lot of cancer. The vet said we had a time frame of a week to a year. Sadly all Demi could manage was 2 weeks. I got a call from my fiance last night that he didn't feel she would make it through the night and I left my job early to hold her one last time before it happened. RIP Demi 10/24/15.

I got Demi two years ago from a small animal rescue organization. She was already 2 and had ear fungus when we got her. Those first two weeks of applying cream to her ears was definitely a challenge. but it helped us see what we were in for. After the ear problem was finished it didn't take her long to warm up to us. She was an unusually friendly hedgie. She would come out and say hi to everyone...and eventually pee on them too.

She struggled with weight issues, bc she was quite the glutton, but she would eat almost anything we put in front of her. So, getting her on diet food was a breeze.

She loved to snuggle on her daddy's shoulder and loved running around in the backyard in the spring. We will miss her a lot.

Thank you for educating me when we first got her and answering all my questions.

I'm so sorry for your loss. She sounds like she was a very sweet girl, and very lucky to get to live with you guys for two happy years. RIP Demi, have fun eating to your heart's content over the Rainbow Bridge.

RIP Demi. She is not hurting anymore. The part about coming from work to hold her one last time made me cry(

It's very sad to be reminded that all our hedgies will be gone one day. But at least there will be new ones. I guess that's what life is.
