Help!!! Male hedgie not using back right leg!!!
Hello!
My little guy Riku has just recently stopped using his back right leg. About a month ago he tried going into hibernation and got a little shaky but he went right back to normal after a few adjustments to his lighting and temp. Earlier this week though I noticed he was flopping over on his side and it seems to be his back right leg that is collapsing. The weird part is that he will still run in his pen (not on his wheel) for an hour or so late at night, around 2 am or so, but any other time he can barely manage to drag himself around. About a year ago he got some hair wrapped around his leg and it swole up pretty bad but was fine after a day or so. He is only 2 years old and it was pretty quick onset so it couldn't be WHS right??? The only other thing that has changed is he has been sneezing. Could a URI cause this? Any help is appreciated! I am trying to find a vet in my area that will see him so if anyone has any suggestions in the southern maine/new hampshire/ north shore mass area I would be forever grateful!
Thank you!
