Arrow One green poop

So I found one green poop in an unusual place, kind of smeared on his house. He normally doesn't poop near his house so im guessing he had it on his foot and tracked it there. The poops looked a good consistency and the rest were all normal colored.

I gave him a bit more egg than usual because I was trying to entertain him by hiding them all over his cage (which he found all of them in literally 20 seconds lol ) Could this be why one was green?

I don't have a great answer for you so hopefully someone else with experience with this chimes in. Just thought I'd share that I have found this too...rarely, but it has happened. As long as not all the poop is like that I'm not sure how much of a concern it really is.

It obviously can't hurt to keep an extra watchful eye on food/water intake, weight, etc just in case you can spot any other abnormalities.

He ate a little less food than normal, but Im pretty sure that because he was full from the egg. He still ate his regular food though, so he's eating good. He is drinking fine, and made tons of poops and pees like usual. His weight is good, he actually grew a little since ive had him, but he is very energetic so im not worried about obesity or anything.

Should I keep him off the egg from now on? Or just not give him as much? I usually only give him a little, but I gave him about a total of quarters (like $ kind of quarter, not a 1/4 kind of quarter) worth of scrambled egg, all chopped small so he could hunt for it. Maybe a little bit larger than a quarter.

Sounds like he is doing fine...that's good!

My hedgie is pretty picky about treats (he won't even touch mealworms!). Chicken, salmon, and egg is about all he will eat. I only give him some when I happen to have it in the fridge or for dinner. I'd say for my hedgie it's only maybe once a week. I'm sure doing it more frequently is ok but I'm not sure I would let it be daily. About the size of a quarter sounds perfectly fine...that's probably about what I give mine. I really am not sure if it was the egg that caused the green poop (I don't think I've noticed a direct result like that with mine) but as long as everything seems normal now I think you're good! 😊
