Default bowel disease?

Hi
I know you have been keeping hedgehogs in the US a lot longer than we have in the UK.so i was wondering if any of you had come across a hedgehog having inflammatory bowel disease/collitis or crohns?

i have a two year old female who the vet thinks maybe suffering some kind of bowel disease as we can't find anything to stop blood in her poop..she is now on injections every other day which worked for about a week and her poo was black and green goo,but last night she had the blood back. she is due back tomorrow for another injection but i was just trying to find out if anyone elses hedgehog had been treated for bowel disease? she was knocked out last week as she had to have 2 teeth out so he had a good feel of her tummy where there was no obvious lumps or bumps.

She is fine in herself, wheeling running around and eating and drinking okay.

thanks nic x

Did they ruled out Clostridium? Litchi had green/dark poo (no blood tough) + anorexia and it was clostridium. She once had similar symptoms and it was enteritis. Where stool samples analysed?

i don't think he mentioned that maybe because of the blood but i shall check with him tomorrow when she goes back.
the samples came back clear.her poos were quite normal when the blood first started then turned very soft then to runny but turned black and green this last week..he didn't seem concerned with the colour as he though it could be the meds.
