Default Lump on leg!

Hello, I have had Jolie for almost six years now, and she has never had any medical issues. Two weeks ago her mouth swelled up really bad and I took her to the vet where they determined she had an abscessed tooth. The swelling is completely gone now, and they instructed me to stop giving her the antibiotics and steroids. She has been off her meds now a week and I noticed this lump on her leg. It doesn't appear to bother her or hurt. She is still very active and her appetite hasn't changed. Any ideas as to what it may be?

Tumor, cyst, abscess... I've seen a a few things look like that. Back to the vet. I'd ask to have it examined. I'd also suspect the vet would want to do a fine needle aspiration (stick a needle in to draw out some cells) to determine if it is solid or pus filled.

Thank you for the quick response. Do you think I should try giving her her antibiotics again to see if it shrinks first or just take her straight back to doc?

Personally, I'd take her back just to get a diagnosis. It may not be bacterial in nature at all and may need to be surgically excised, drained, etc.

Plus, depending on the medication given before it may not be the best to use for this (if it is bacterial in nature), or the medication may not be as effective due to its age, or the vet may want to use a different dosage. Some expire rather quickly once they are dispensed for our use.
