Unhappy Patches of Yellow Crustiness?

Today I noticed that Holly has two patches of yellow crustiness in between her front leg and ear-(one on each side of her body).
They are in the exact same spot! The fur also looks sparse in that spot. Does anyone know what it is???

I looked in Holly's cage and it looks like she has lost more fur than I thought. There are clumps /plugs (idk if that's a good way to describe it) of fur with the yellow stuff...
There is only fur loss in between her ears and front paws though.

Huh. That seems a bit strange...I think I'd head for a vet visit, just to be safe. It could be a skin infection that hasn't spread to other parts of her body yet. It seems like it'd be too far down to be ear drainage or something like that, but overall, it seems abnormal enough to me that it's worth having a vet take a look. Let us know what they say if you do end up going! I'd be interested to hear.

I think I'll take her to the vet later this week- unless this clears up.
Thanks for the advice

Yes, it is. It's a fungal infection that spreads via spores in the air or on objects. They enter through breaks in the body - cuts, scrapes, hedgie quill pokes, etc. If it does turn out to be ringworm, you'll want to clean everything thoroughly & keep hedgie quarantined from other pets, as well as cleaning his/her cage daily. If you do a search for ringworm on the forum, there's a couple other threads about it that have more tips & info.

I was about to say... looks like ringworm to me. It is pretty contagious, like Lilysmommy said, keep everything very clean and quarantined. You'll have to get to a vet to get medicine.
Let us know how that goes and what the vet says. Good luck!
