Exclamation Scratching a lot and his back end looks swollen and red

My baby Marlin, I've had him for only a few weeks. I've never had a hedgehog or any other pets but have done a lot of research before bringing him home. Right now he's 13 weeks old and he's in the process of quilling and oh so huffy. His breeder told me he's a drama queen and she was right.

He's quite huffy and won't tolerate any handling so it's been hard to check on him. I was bonding with him earlier tonight and noticed that his back end (his testicles?), under his tail was a bit swollen and looks pinker than usual. I didn't think too much of it and just thought he was gaining weight (he's a chubby one).

I was about to head to bed but heard him scratching himself excessively and loud enough that I noticed, went to check on him and he immediately ran to hide under his wheel. I noticed that there was a significance amount of quills (normal-looking, bulb end attached) on his cage's fleece liner but I'm not sure if it's all from today.

He also did this movement where he laid on his side for a few seconds curled up and make a "sneeze" like sound, then went back to hide?

He's normally quite skittish, he will curl up and huff with any sudden sounds or movement but this was new. I want to pick him up and have a close look at him but he won't get out from under his wheel.

I've been meaning to bring him to a vet to get a general check up but was waiting til he got settled in and more tolerable to being handled but I'm probably bringing him as soon as the vet opens in the morning.

Also, I cleaned his wheel earlier in the day and he hasn't poop since last night, he usually poops in the middle of the night and when I'm handling him so I'm probably being paranoid...

I'm really worried about him and probably won't be able to sleep until I can get him to the vet. Really hope it's nothing abnormal or bad and I'm just being paranoid. Any advice would be appreciated!
