Default Redness above eyes? (In quills)

Any idea what this could be or what I can do for it? I adopted this guy earlier this week.

I've never seen anything like this. It might be dry skin.. Maybe do an oatmeal bath to moisturize? [

What bedding are you using for him/her? I know carefresh can cause dryskin problems.
It also might be some infection or maybe an allergic reaction. You should definitely see a vet if it doesn't go away/gets worse.
I hope he gets better ! <3

His previous home did use Carefresh, but I’m transitioning to aspen because I noticed how dusty the Carefresh was. I put coconut oil on it last night to see if it would help calm it down, this may sound silly but could it be irritated in that area from him balling up so much since he’s been here? Lol He’s super grumpy! The silly little guy!

It kind of looks like a bacterial or fungal infection from something... does he have mites? maybe??
or his skin could be irritated from the type of detergent you use to clean his blankets

Do not transfer him to aspen if you can help it. Aspen is very harmful to their respiratory system. Try getting the no- dust care fresh bedding or just use fleece blankets. Good luck!

Those look like infected quills that need to been seen by a vet for treatment.

Aspen is completely safe to use and does not cause respiratory issues. It's cedar that causes respiratory issues.
