I just got my first hedgehog a week and a half ago; Prickles was 6 weeks when I got him. He's been pretty itchy since then, which I know can come from stress of a new home/environment. But, a few days ago I noticed a scanned area on his right cheek under his eye. That area is now a bald patch. He is eating and drinking fine, active. He's a little grumpy when I touch his quills, so he may be quilling. Is scratching to the point of a bald spot normal for little hedgies when they are quilling? I'm attaching a picture. Otherwise, no other skin issues.

You should take him to the vet. Itchiness isn't really a sign of stress and between that & the state of his face, it sounds like he might have mites. If they treat for mites, make sure they use Revolution, not Ivermectin.
