Default Baby hedgehog with dry skin

I just got her from my breeder yesterday and I noticed that she had dry skin and spines poking through her skin. I told my breeder about this and she said that it was normal. She's about 7 weeks old. She also has a wet looking nose. Is she sick or is this normal?

Her quills seem quite sparse even for a seven week old baby.

I agree with Nikki. I also see a lot of flakes in there. A trip to the vet might be in order.

I would have the vet treat her with Revolution in case she has mites. Don't let the vet use Ivermec or Ivermectin to treat mites as many hedgehogs have reacted to it. You can also see if the vet will do a skin scrape to see if it's a bacterial or fungal infection.

I'm very surprised that a breeder would send a baby home like that.

Before going to the vet, should I try to bath her with aveeno oatmeal wash? That's what my breeder told me to do when I showed her a pic. Sorry, she's my first hedgie and I'm panicking

Bathing her isn't going to help no matter what you use. I'm sorry but I wouldn't take advice from any breeder that sells a hedgehog with that much quill loss and then tries to say it's normal.
