Default New baby itching a ton

I just brought home a new baby born 3/15 of this year. I've noticed that he itches a TON, way more than any other hedgie I've had in the past. I tried giving him a bath with aveeno oatmeal baby wash, I also tried massaging olive oil into his skin, but he still seems to itch a lot.

I brought him to my breeder, who treated him for mites just in case, but she thinks the problem may be that he's quilling and just feels the need to itch a lot.

Is there any better way to relieve dry skin than what I've been doing? Should I just wait a bit until he's done quilling and see if he settles down? Thanks!

Try using coconut oil, it helped mine a lot. I would just rub it into her skin, leave it on over night and wash her in the morning.

What did the breeder treatment him with? Quilling usually doesn't cause that much itching. I would take him to the vet to be checked for mites and to just have a general check up. You want to be careful using oil as it can make bacterial and fungal infections worse.
