Question Discolouration during mite episode

Hello all,

Our little Maximus is getting over a recent, mild case of mites. It was caught early so improvement after the first Revolution treatment was fairly quick.

One strange thing though that I haven't noticed on the forum is mention of discolouration of the skin during mite attacks. I've seen mention of the dry, flaky skin, and skin gone red from irritation, which is to be expected. In Max's case however, the main affected area (a small patch on the back just above the tail) was not only dry and flaky, but discoloured to a brownish-grey colour. Max is nearly all white, though not albino, and his healthy skin is normally mostly pink. He did have red irritation on his ears, too. Now that the mites are subsiding and things are going back to normal, his skin is returning to its regular pinkish colour, though he's still flaking off a lot of dry skin (it's been less than a week since treatment).

Things are going well with treatment so this isn't a problem -- I was just curious to see if anyone else had noticed the same thing.
