Default Soothing Hedgie with ringworm

I'm pretty sure that my hedgehog Doug (10 months) has ringworm, I'm treating him with a cream product for ringworm and athletes foot that the vet recommended twice a day, I'm waiting on the fungal culture to come back from the vet but it will be another week, he does not seem itchy but can anyone recommend some way to keep Doug happier during this time? He's becoming very irritated at being medicated twice a day. Or something that might make him feel better? He is not a very friendly hog (we are working on it) so I don't know what I can do.

Also how would he have gotten a fungal infection?

Fungal infections are tricky. They can come from out of nowhere ( OK, maybe not quite). Anything comes from a store? It can have the fungus. Touch something, it can have the fungus.
Try giving him a yummy treat while or after giving him his medication. Let him be in as comfortable of a position as possible.

We moved him to a quieter room so that he is not bothered as much during the day. We had an emergency guinea pig visit a few days ago. I didn't realize how loud they are. Doug seemed less cranky and he was fed cat treats after. I'm going to let him rest for the day hopefully that helps. Thanks for the advice.
