Maurice suddenly has a really big scab on his chin the size of the end of a chubby finger. It seems to have gotten inflected potentially because it is quite swollen. I don't know if he's hurting but I'm not sure if it's a Tumor or a cut. He is still very playful so he does t seem to be bothered.

I would advise you see a vet right away. Especially if you think it is an infection or a tumor.
Until then, you can use one of these home-remedies that will help: 1) "you can make a home antibiotic using fresh thyme (the herb). boil some water, and pour it into a mug containing a good handful of fresh thyme sprigs. let this sit for at least 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. then, you can use a paper towel to filter the thyme-infused water from the sprigs. use this thyme water to clean your hedgehog's cut, 2X a day." - missPixy from Hamster Hideout 2) Make a batch of Epsom-salt-water with 1 part water and 1 part epsom salt. Use warm (not hot) water, and natural Epsom salt. Soak a washcloth in this solution and gently dab it on the infection. It will draw the infection out and keep the wound clean. Do 2x daily.

Yeah I'm going to go to the vet, does it look like it is from his beloved toilet paper roll?? It just seems to be very swollen and I'm concerned because when I got home his wheel had a different consistency of poop on it... It wasn't green and runny it was somewhat orangey... And some very black and somewhat wet poops. He has no change in personality but I have to wait until tommorow to bring him to the vet. Any ideas? Sorry I can't get any really clear pics but it's very obviously swollen

It could be an abscess from rubbing on a toilet paper tube. Do you cut the tubes or leave them intact?
I would just leave it be until the vet sees it just in case it's something like a tumour. Please don't use herbs on it since hedgehogs are so sensitive to smell it could make thing worse. |

My reason is that since hedgehogs have such a strong sense of smell it might irritate them. An irritated hedgehog will often chew on the area that has the offending scent. If that happens it will make things worse. Hedgehogs react to stress in different ways than other animals. To me it's not worth the risk.
