Default Dry skin?

Hi! Millie was born 11/7/15 and it seems she has super dry skin. But she also doesn't have as many quills as I think she should. She has quite a lot of space between her quills. Her ears are very dry looking as well.. I don't know if she has quilled yet and she's healthy other than this. Help!

I'm not 100% sure, but it could be mites. She does look like she has less quills than normal and the ears can also be a sign of mites. Have you done the black cloth test?

The quill coat on her back is far too thin in my opinion. Its time for a veterinary visit to have a skin scrape done. You need to have mites and bacterial infection ruled out.

I agree and here are some updated pictures. You can see many large quills coming through and many tiny ones. She turned 12 weeks yesterday. The dry skin completely cleared after her very first bath with oatmeal. She has a vet appt this coming Friday.

Ouch. Her skin looks awfully irritated (reddish patches) to me. New quills growing in is promising, but normal dry skin doesn't cause that kind of quill loss typically.
